I was thinking yesterday afternoon about the story of Gideon after I had gotten done preaching about him in Judges Chapter 6-7. I realized afterwords that most people tend for focus on Gideon and his faithfulness to God. Sure he asked for signs to “make sure” it was really God telling him to go and fight the Midianites, but I got to thinking…

-”What about the 300?”

Some people might struggle with never feeling like God has called them to do something BIG in their life. And I realize that the word BIG is circumstantial to each person and something BIG to someone may not be considered BIG to somebody else. Regardless of your opinion of BIG…I was thinking about the Trust and Faith that the 300 had to have in their leader Gideon. God chose to use 300 men to go and fight WITH Gideon to help him fulfill what God had called him to do.

-Have you ever thought of yourself as one of the 300?

Maybe God has you in a ministry or in a local Church to help fulfill a bigger vision or calling that someone else has. I know as a Church planter, I could have NEVER planted this Church without the help of so many people. Some of them, God used for a season, and I thank God for every single one of them, BUT without them, I could have never gotten this Vision that God gave to me 4 years ago off the ground. They were a HUGE part of what God had in store. The people who have gotten saved and grown as a disciple of Jesus Christ were forever changed by the “300″ who partnered with me and my vision to plant a “Gospel centered” church in the Hampton Roads Area.

-So many people told me I was crazy when I planted this Church. They told me there were too many Churches in the area, they told me that i couldn’t plant a Church with young people, they told me I wouldn’t have the money. And you know what…we are still here, we are growing in our tithes, and the young people I had did a fantastic job. Sure we had our bumps in the roads, but I wouldn’t trade what God did in the life of BC or in my own life for anything. I love everyone who has partnered in this ministry and I’m so excited about where we are going in the future.

Don’t let people think your not part of a bigger picture or Vision. I still believe that God’s agent of change to the world is through the Local Church. YOU are apart of something bigger. God didn’t call all 32,000 men in his troops to go and deliver his people. He called Gideon, but God chose to use the “300″ to help him accomplish his call.

So as I reflect on the last year and half, I just want to say “Thank you” to all the “300″ who have partnered with me in ministry. I am excited about the “300″ that God has joined together to call “Broadcast Church”. Let’s keep “Broadcasting” the message of Jesus Christ through our every day lives and let’s have God sized Visions and Dreams. Then this community will know that it’s not by our own strength, but by the mighty hand of God!

What’s your DREAM? Where has called called you to serve and help fulfill an even bigger Dream or Vision. The 300 were just as trusting and significant as Gideon. Don’t think that your not important or you haven’t done something BIG just because God didn’t call you to spearhead the vision. God chose the “300″ as they were getting a drink.

Just a couple of thoughts as I was reflecting on yesterday’s message!
