Thoughts from First Service (Pictures)

cafeWhat an incredible event for the life of Broadcast Church.  We finallycafe-nursery launched our weekly services this past Sunday (Feb. 7th, 2010).  I will never forget it the rest of my life.  It snowed the day before so I thought people would be hesitant to come to Church.  I wasn’t expecting a big crowd.  It was 15 degrees when we got to the school at 6:30 AM.  Our lock on our box truck was frozen.  I had to blow on it to get it to open.  I was just praying that people would still come out, even though the roads were clear.  People in Va. Beach aren’t used to any white stuff being on the ground, besides seagull droppings.  cafe-snow1

God totally blessed and to my surprise we had exactly 100 people there.  We had an amazing time of worship led by Jason Baca. Our transitions went smoothly and God was lifted up.  I preached about God’s love for us.  It was an incredible service and I’m looking forward to all the weeks ahead.

  1. Something I will never forget about our first service was how strong the anointing of God was on Jess and the entire service. There have been few times where I truly felt the presence of God in a place and I can truly say that the Holy Spirit was there at Broadcast in full force!

I am SO excited to be apart of this church and love seeing lives being changed through Broadcast! Way to go team!! We did it with God’s help!

  2. I loved the first day, I might not have been in the service but I was serving in the children’s ministry and it was great!!! And I was very impressed by the amount of people that came to see what all the buzz was about and I was even more impressed when so many people told me they loved it and was impressed also by how put together BC was for the launch of their church:)) Very impressive BC!

What a blessing it was for me to be a part of this amazing service! I was so excited to get going on Sunday morning that I could hardly sleep and when I arrived at 6:55 to get started (Diet Coke in hand and UnderArmor on for the weather) I felt like I was late because so many people were already there–apparently more excited than I was!!! I was so ready to get out and greet everyone and welcome them to our worship service.

Aside from someone thinking the tithe basket was a trashcan, I think things could have not gone more perfectly. I could just feel God pouring out through everyone in attendance and was very moved myself–I love Broadcast and everyone involved and absolutely cannot wait for Sunday to come back :)

The thing I remember the most is the beautiful worship music. Even though I was serving in the nursery I still felt like I was part of the service simply because the music was so uplifting! Thanks to the musicians and singers who bless Broadcast with their talents!

I loved the first service! I was in the Children’s Ministry and we had so much fun. It is amazing to see how God can use us in the lives of little ones. They are so precious to Him! :)

I was in awe that so many people came to “check it out”. So many people have told me how much they liked it and how they will be returning! PRAISE GOD! I pray He continues to use us in the community to touch people’s lives and show them how to walk out their faith daily!

  6. Jason Baca says:

I thought it went great! Technical issues with the sound (both for the worship team and for the audience), but all in all, it went great. I guess my mind was really observant and turned toward all the goings-on of the service aspect to really give you feedback as to the overall feel/flow of the service, but from the worship leader’s standpoint, I think it went well. Band was worshipping, people were worshipping, and at the end of the day, thats all that matters. :)

    The coffee…was…DELICIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. Stephanie Empson says:

Oh wow! Our frirst service was simply awesome. Sure we had sound difficulties and maybe we had a few problems, but so what? God was moving in that room and nobody knew that we had had sound issues. Jess’s sermon was so awesome and I think everyone in that room needed to hear it. I know I did. God’s love is so important and we need to remeber how much He loves us. We had a really great turn out and that was super encouraging. I am looking forward to the future and how much Broadcast is going to grow!! :)

I was there for their first service and it was awesome. Pastor Jess did a wonderful job with his message, and his worship team was over the top good. The team of volunteers for the Lord he has is great. Thank you to all for allowing the Lord to us you to reach people for Christ.
Have a blessed life as you grow this church for HIS GLORY.
Know you are in my prayers!

I am glad you have a website connected to FB. I was looking for a church to attend and it’s like an answer to prayers. Thanks!
